Why I shop the Amazon Appstore daily

I've chatted with quite a few Android owners about the Amazon Appstore for Android and found it curious that some like it while others have had no interest in checking it out.  I suppose that's for multiple reasons, perhaps whether people consider their device a hobby or tool.  'Course, it could also be a 'value conscious' thing....

Me, mostly it's the hobby before value, but the primary reason I collect these ever changing "Free paid app per day" apps is for my next device!  While I'm not certain that I'll be able to install the same apps across multiple devices I own, I've heard that I will.  Truth be told, for what I've paid, I don't care enough to bother looking it up.

Anyhow, I've already had my eyes on different tablets, the Asus one with keyboard being my current interest. As for answering the question of why I have been collecting these apps, well, I want to have quite the library to choose from for all my future devices.  I expect some of the apps will be better on a tablet, while others are obviously only useful on a phone.

So, just like in the golden-oldie days of the Web, where every new startup was giving away everything, including the kitchen sink to build customer bases, I'll continue my daily visits.  I encourage you to as well.  I mean, what's to loose?  If you already have an Amazon account then I think it's a no-brainer.  Even if you don't have an Android device or are a sworn loyal iPhone user, why not collect some freebies?  Who knows when you might stumble upon a device unexpectedly?  (Might even be built into your next microwave?)  As for spam or virus concerns, Amazon has enough clout that they've earned my trust.  They certainly have shown a desire for retaining customers and I doubt they'd risk future business by allowing their appstore to tarnish their image.
